Low Budget Films - Blair Witch Project

The Blair Witch Project is a good low budget film overall that pretty much invented the found footage genre, it had alot of elements that suggested it was a low budget movie such as the camera quality, it wasnt very good as it was filmed hand held, obviously this adds to the effect of it being a found footage film. its all filmed in the woods so they didnt actually need to use a proper set so this would have saved money, and the props like the stick men in the trees are hand made so they wouldnt of cost too much money to make them as it looks like they were made from the branches. they also didnt have an actor for the witch as shes never seen in the film, this suggests that they didnt have the budget to have a scary costume for the witch.

As it was filmed in the woods i noticed a few times that they used the same location for different scenes, this made it feel like they were stuck in the woods and were genuinely lost. there also wasnt any special effects which means they saved money there. there also wasnt any well known or famous actors in the film so they wouldnt have to pay loads for an actor.
